Parisian shoe house Altan Bottier has recently made a new wholecut lazyman model named ‘Archangel’. This new model is part of their 50th Anniversay collection to celebrate a grand milestone of their history. This wholecut lazyman is fit for such an accolade. It is elegant perfection for the ‘lazy man’ who wishes to stay smart but not have to bend over and tie his shoes. All jokes aside, this is an exquisite model.
The Archangel is offered in six colorways as a ‘stock’ model but is orderable via MTO in any material that Altan Bottier has available. Just see that beautiful patinated grey suede version, which is some serious next-level footwear. For far too long the lazyman model has revolved around brogues. I like that Altan went the complete opposite direction and made one form the sleekest style around: The Wholecut.

What I really like about the model, which might sound silly, is the inverted lacing decoration. Normally, the bottom lace is the ‘widest’ and gets narrower as you go up. But Altan Bottier did the opposite here and inverted the equation. When there is only one thing you can change on a wholecut, you have to get creative!
As always, Altan Bottier knocked it out of the park with this new creation.
