In the continuation of my Trip to Berluti London series, here are some more photos capturing their leather goods offering and some of the patina styles. Their patinas, for me, are most certainly not among the best in the world but the vividness of their coloring and the range of colors that they can achieve are impressive for sure. Berluti after all is among the pioneers of patina. But instead of specializing in it, what they have created is the mass production of it. That is also a good thing, in general, as it largely helps to grow the idea of patina and pave the way for young artists to thrive in it.

Their ability to handle exotic leather with ease is impressive and one must remember that they do this on a RTW basis, not just a one-off here and there. I have always appreciated the way that they patina the exotics, playing with the depth of the scales or texture of those leathers that are often not flat like calfskin. That is where patina can bring to life something I might not otherwise like. The hand luggage, for example, is beautiful. Naturally, I would never use this as I fly economy and it would be easily ruined, but it is nice for the gent that flies private and it certainly is a luxurious piece. This is how you know that Berluti does not cater to your average ‘shoe connoisseur’. They are selling to the ultra-wealthy. Which is fine and makes sense. And Berluti London offers a great deal of these pieces, as you can see.
I am sure the Berluti London shop has changed a lot since I last went there and I am curious to see how that change has transformed the look, not only of the shop but also of the election. As I will be there in May, I plan to stop by. Let’s see if they allow me to take photos this time. I used to be pals with the Shop Manager, but have always had a rocky relationship with the French brand for my contentious thoughts on the direction of the quality vs price ratio. Time shall tell!

Hello, where can I find the shoes that are pictured ?
Thank you

Berluti is now a fashion company and being that this post is super old, they might not carry the same models as shown. Best of luck
MANY OF THESE PICTURES ARE JUST EYE CANDY. I HAVE SEEN SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND DESIRABLE SHOES HERE…TO NO AVAIL.
Thank you for sharing
Why people are complaining? All the models can be ordered by special order, but most of the time it is blind order….Olga’s design is timeless.
what do you mean by a ‘blind order’?
