Mario Bemer USA has introduced a new model to his Made to Order collection. It is a lovely single balmoral monkstrap, named Romeo. The name befits this seductive single monk with an elegant balmoral line styling. I am always a sucker for anything that has the balmoral line and this is no exception! It is one of my new favorite models of his and I can’t wait to see new renditions of it.
It’s funny as I am usually not a lover of tan-colored shoes or shoes entirely made in exotic leather. I can always appreciate them but normally they aren’t for me. But this shoe is different. The large scales on these balmoral monkstraps allow for a nice coloring of the light-colored leather by giving depth to it so that it is not uniform looking. It gives off an antiqued look that I actually find really appealing as it doesn’t look forced but makes it unique-looking. While I probably couldn’t afford them, I could definitely wear them!
While this version of the Romeo shoe was made to a client’s specifications, each Mario Bemer USA shoe is to be looked at as a template. As Mario works hands-on personally to create the exact shoe you desire, you will be able to customize the shoes’ look. For example, if you wanted to add a cap toe and a medallion to the Romeo balmoral monkstrap, you could do so.
Personally speaking, I would love to see this in a two-tone leather/suede combo with a plain toe and a medallion. I am thinking of something with blue in it. I think that would be a lovely makeup. What combination would you make in Mario Bemer’s new model, the Romeo?
