Mario Bemer has just dropped a new derby boot model, the Tobia, with a completely hand-stitched upper and a very unique pattern. You can tell that Mario Bemer is really there sitting down and drawing out new designs as he is creating patterns with lines that exist only in his brand. And that is what I love about Mario Bemer. He makes 100% unique shoes that are exceptionally his own.
This Mario Bemer new boot model offers a lot of interesting details, such as the padded collar, but without the padding. The braided hand-stitching is very rare to see outside of bespoke shoes. It is often heavy for a dress shoe but fits the idea of a heavier boot intended for rougher wear. You can see from the photos that this was the inspiration for this boot, which he markets in the snow. I personally don’t wear suede in the snow but with a beefy commando style Vibram sole, you just might get away with it in light treading.

Mario Bemer makes each pair of shoes via Made to Order. He does not hold a large stock and it is usually of more casual models. That being, your pair is completely customizable. You can change the last, the coloring, and you can probably even change the stitching should you feel inclined. Each model should be looked at as a template. These derby boots can be created to your liking and these photos are only inspiration as to what you can achieve. How would you design this boot? Share your thoughts below!
