Rough Out Suede

Crockett & Jones AW24 collection offers new ideas on their rough-out suede selection. This time in an olive green shade on a cool, rugged brogue boot. I think that this was a great idea as green is really in right now and this shade of it pairs perfectly with denim and most colors of earth-tone chinos. It is also offers something different to your common black and brown leatherss while not going overboard. A real winner here.

The natural color rough-out suede is different. It’s bold and not bold at the same time. It’s rugged yet stands out due to its light nature. Equally cool, but harder to wear IMO. But I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the better seller of the two!

Hatch Grain

Hatch Grain offerings are a no-brainer for British brands. Any kind of grain leather is good for wet environments as they don’t show wear and tear as easily as calfskin does. And hatch grain is among the most popular for something robust yet still sleek. Heavier grains are usually reserved for more robust models while the hatch grain looks smart on a dress style. It’s no surprise this remains a constant offering and does so for 4 of the models in Crockett & Jones AW24 collection.

Vi-Lite Rubber Soles

For their suede models, Crockett & Jones adds a Vibram lite sole for the ultimate comfort. They are smart as these are the models that will get the most use: chelseas, chukkas, and a derby boot. You can tell that everything is very well thought out as these models most likely are reserved for city use and smarter outfits, not so casual.

Most of the models are in dark brown suede, which is the easiest color to wear. These are all no-brainers!

New Wholecut Oxfords

My favorite offering of the Crockett & Jones AW24 collection is the new wholecut oxford: The Goodwood. What I love about this is that they finally made a whoelcut on a rounded last! I guess they see that as more casual as they also added a rubber sole to this new model. To put the cherry on top, the Goodwood also comes in dark brown suede. I have always loved the idea of a suede whoelcut oxford and too few of us wear them. Here’s to hoping that changes!
