Yearn Shoemaker has recently introduced their new Artisanal Line. The collection features some upgrades to the finishing that will come as a standard to the models within that line. Some of those features come standard now and some they are working towards, but I do not believe have been officially launched. Let’s look at them.
Yearn Shoemaker’s Artisanal Line

Fiddleback Waist
Everyone’s favorite feature as of late is the fiddleback sole waist. See the photo above to understand exactly what that is, in case you are unfamiliar. Yearn’s original line only featured flat waists. They then worked on a rounded hump-style waist and are now offering the fiddleback, for that super-refined look.

Refined Fudging
There are all kinds of fudging out there, from light fudging to deep fudging to fudging on the edges only and more prominent fudging that encompasses the entire welt that sticks out. And that is the refined fudging. A proper fudging covers the entire sole stitch with each notch matching the hole of the below stitch. That is what Yearn is now offering in their Artisanal Line. That simple detail very much enhances the cleanliness of the sole stitching.

Leather Arch Supports – Coming Soon
This is a feature that Yearn is working on. It is not easy and it is costly so they are trying to incorporate it into the new line, but I do not believe it is yet fully offered. Most arch supports do not actually exist as the heel counter simply covers the heel block and does not extend to support the arch. In bespoke shoes, a long piece of actual leather extends from the outer heel all the way to your inner arch, providing maximum support to your feet. That is what they are working on here. Coming soon.

Refined Designs
When you look at the classic models and you look at the Artisanal ones, you immediately see a difference in style and refinement. Yearn Shoemaker’s Artisanal Line offers elegantly sharp models that are a testament to refined shoemaking. Even more impressive is the fact that they are 100% handmade and only cost around $560.
