The Autumn Patina Series by Yearn Shoemaker is a new line that embodies the essence of the Autumn season with their new Amber Gold and Dusk Grey patinas. The patina series offers six new models across these two new colorways (one must be asked about directly). They are a made-to-order collection, where you can select either the standard RTW finishing or the new Artisanal Line detailing for an upcharge of $239.

Each pair of Yearn Shoemaker shoes is individually made. They are hand lasted, and have a hand-stitched outsole. The RTW finishing takes 25 days, while the Artisanal Line detailing takes 8 weeks to complete. The Artisanal Line detailing offers you a fiddleback waist, a longer, more refined sole edge waist, and deeper fudging on the welt. The shoe becomes much sleeker and more refined with these added details but costs more and takes longer. I dare say it is worth it when pairing it with beautiful patinas.

The Autumn Patina Series brings you mostly classic styles but with sharp lasts, refined lines, and unique coloring that separates them from their standard collections. I quite like the long split-toe derby. It is one of the few ways that I truly appreciate a derby shoe, as it makes the quite casual design into something sleeker with the elongated last it must be made on to complete that pattern.

The Balmoral line plain toe double monk is also very striking and subtly unique. You rarely find a plain-toe monkstrap. Even more rare for it to have a balmoral line on the quarter. Most monkstraps have the derby line, as you will see in the other double monk. This balmoral line, for me, makes the model infinitely more sleeker. It was a smart move making it a plain-toe style to encompass the idea of a ‘formal monkstrap.’

Yearn Shoemaker continues to impress and while they are somewhat quiet in the industry, I promise you there will be great things to come from this brand, which easily offers some of the best value-for-money shoes out there.

I have recently ordered their A721 monk straps of artisanal line via Arterton in London. I am very keen for the shoes to be made and shipped because the quality seems to be of super high level.
Nice one! Enjoy them!
