If you like a suede monkstrap, you will love a suede monkstrap on clearance. I have always loved a good suede monkstrap. In fact, I prefer my double monks in suede, rather than leather. I never saw them as a shoe that would replace my oxfords. Instead, I found them to be something that complemented my more dress casual days of wearing jeans and a buttoned-up shirt, or roll neck (read: Turtleneck for those of you in the US). That is exactly what I had in mind when I created the more fun and casual version of my Sammamish monkstraps from the JF Line of J.FitzPatrick Footwear.
I often wear loafers through the sunny months. I neglect models that simply appear too formal. Adding the contrast sole to these suede monkstraps allowed me to mentally see these are more fun and casual, less stuff, and more befitting to my Summer-style clothing of floral shirts and linen pants. Last Summer, I wore them in all three colorways available: Tobacco, Dark Sapphire, and Storm Suede. I probably wore the Tobacco suede the most, but the Storm suede has been the biggest seller. Alas, I realized that I had a different direction for our JF Line and ultimately have decided to put these suede monkstraps on clearance.
